Samsung’s partnership with digital fitness platform iFit is now live, meaning the brand’s smartwatch users finally have an integrated way to perform workouts from home.

The move, first announced in September as part of a wider Samsung Health platform upgrade, embeds hundreds of premium, trainer-led video workouts directly into the brand’s Health app.

It creates a native ecosystem that represents Samsung’s most direct and serious challenge to Apple Fitness+ yet.

The collaboration includes all iFIT workouts—spanning seven categories, such as HIIT, Pilates, yoga, strength, and mindfulness—directly within the Fitness tab of the Samsung Health app.

The key feature for users, though, as we say, is the seamless integration with the Galaxy Watch.

When a user starts an iFIT workout on their phone or Samsung TV, their watch (such as the new Galaxy Watch 8) will automatically connect, displaying real-time heart rate, calories burned, and session duration on the wrist. All workout data is then fed directly into the user’s daily health stats.

The Wareable take

By partnering with a content provider like iFIT rather than building its own workout studio from scratch, Samsung has instantly equipped its platform with a massive library of premium content. As we said in September, it’s a clear move to create a ‘stickier’ ecosystem and a more compelling, data-rich reason for users to stay within the Samsung platform.

The pricing model is also about on par with Apple’s Fitness+. Samsung Health users can access one on-demand iFIT video per workout category each month free of charge, while unlimited access to the iFIT catalog within the Health app costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year.

To sweeten the deal, Samsung is also offering free trials with new device purchases, including six months of free iFIT with a new Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, or Watch Ultra, and three months with the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. Again, similar to what we’ve seen from Apple.
