The intercom system with a tablet showing an Amazon delivery driver at the door

Ring is bringing its latest smart home innovation to UK apartments with the launch of Ring Intercom Video, a new connected device that lets residents see, speak to, and grant access to visitors all from their phone.

Building on the success of 2022’s Ring Intercom, which gave users remote control over their building entrance, this new version adds a camera and live streaming capabilities. That means you can now visually confirm who’s buzzing in before unlocking the door, whether you’re curled up on the sofa or halfway across the world.

Through the Ring app, users can view a live feed of their entrance, chat with guests via Two-Way Talk, and unlock doors remotely. If you have an Echo Show, the whole experience goes hands-free because you can simply glance at your display and let people in with a tap or voice command.

Installation is refreshingly simple too. Designed for DIY setup, Ring says most users can have the system up and running in under an hour without any structural changes — a huge plus for renters. The new intercom also integrates with Auto-Verified Deliveries, a free service that allows Amazon drivers time-limited access to securely drop off packages, meaning no more missed deliveries or soggy parcels.

For frequent travellers or anyone living in a multi-unit building, the Ring Intercom Video feels like a real quality-of-life upgrade. It combines peace of mind via video verification with the convenience of remote access, a balance that’s increasingly essential in modern urban homes.

The Ring Intercom Video is available now at an introductory price of £69.99, before rising to £99.99 on 2 December. Customers who own the audio-only version can trade it in for the new model through Ring’s upgrade program.
