Ikea Dirigera hub with Matter

IKEA’s Dirigera home hub has just got a whole lot smarter – thanks to an upgrade that makes it compatible with Matter 1.3 supported products.

Dirigera firmware update 2.866.3 enables the hub to connect to water leak sensors and energy-measuring bulbs from a variety of other brands. This now means Matter supported devices such as the Tapo Mini Smart WiFi Plug should work with the hub with relative ease.

The hub is set to update automatically for anyone who owns it. However, you can also trigger the update through the app.

This is the first update the smart hub has had since July, which introduced Sonos authentication support, and it doesn’t look like IKEA is planning to slow down anytime soon.

According to a new filing, the Dirigeara Hub is now certified for Matter 1.4, according to NotebookCheck. This could bring support for devices like water heaters and improvements for thermostats.

However, given we’ve only just got 1.3 support, it could be a little while before this is pushed out.
