Govee is no stranger to bold lighting collaborations, but its latest partnership might be its most unexpected yet.

The smart-lighting brand has teamed up with Walt Disney Animation Studios to celebrate the upcoming release of Zootopia 2, arriving in cinemas on November 26.

It’s the first time the two companies have worked together, and the result is a line of door lighting effects designed to bring a little movie magic straight to the garden.

Rather than launching new hardware, Govee is leaning into what it does best: transforming its existing outdoor lights into vibrant, character-themed experiences you can trigger right from the Govee Home app. Families can load up exclusive Zootopia 2 light scenes inspired by Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, Flash, and newcomer Gary De’Snake, syncing them across multiple products using Govee’s SceneStage feature.

That means a string of Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Prism can pulse in hero blues and bunny pinks, while Curtain Lights Pro animate patterns that feel straight out of Zootopia’s neon-lit districts. Combine them all and you get a coordinated backyard light show timed to the film’s characters, essentially a mini premiere night without leaving home.

For Govee, the collaboration is about tapping into the emotional side of lighting. “Lighting is an expression of joy,” CEO Eric Wu said, noting that the partnership is meant to “spark imagination and foster family connections.” And something is fitting about pairing a film built around colour, energy, and visual storytelling with a brand known for injecting personality into outdoor spaces.

It’s an unusually cosy crossover, but one that makes sense the moment you picture a family movie night under shifting RGB skies, or a festive gathering lit up in Zootopia-themed colours. With Govee’s outdoor lineup, from garden lights to wall sconces to Christmas string lights, the company is positioning itself as a go-to option for people who want smart lighting that’s fun, not just functional.

Whether it’s a one-off tie-in or the start of more animated collaborations is unclear. But for now, fans of Govee and Disney get to enjoy a lighting upgrade that’s playful, creative, and just a little wild, exactly what Zootopia would want.
