Govee has unveiled a clever new addition to its smart home lineup – and this one might be its most practical yet.
The Goveelife Smart Plug Outlet Extender with Night Light combines power management, charging, and ambient lighting into one compact device that’s now available to pre-order in the US.
It’s not your typical plug. The 8-in-1 extender features six outlets and two USB ports: four always-on sockets, two smart ones, plus a USB-A and USB-C port, all neatly arranged across three sides to avoid cable clutter. That layout, along with the 1.97-inch spacing between outlets, means you can easily plug in bulky adapters without fighting for space.
What makes this model stand out is the built-in RGB light, which doubles as a night light or ambient mood lamp. It offers 15 different lighting effects, all controlled through the Govee Home app, where you can also set timers, create schedules, or adjust power to the smart outlets remotely. For hands-free control, the plug also works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Despite its versatility, Govee hasn’t skipped on safety: the device comes with surge and overload protection, a 5VA fire-resistant shell, and even an optional screw mount if you’d rather fix it in place.
